About Us

This About Us page is to explain how this website originated, my background, how I welcome your feedback and how I want to help you benefit from and enjoy your trip to Paris. This website is an outgrowth of my passion for Paris. I first visited the City of Light for eight days in 1968 with my wife, and we were enthralled by the impressive monuments, world-class art museums, historical significance, gourmet food, charm of the French people, elegance as a way of life and the general ambiance of the city. I visited Paris on my own two more times in connection with business trips. And my wife and I were in Paris for eleven days in May 2006.

This website is owned by Web Options, Inc., an Internet services company. I am Gerald Robinson, its owner and president. I have extensive experience in business and research management and in the conduct of research. I have consulted in the areas of business process design, organizational structure and business planning. I have had a lifelong interest in travel. I have drawn from my trips to Paris and extensive research to build this website, www.paris-travel-insider.com. I have been assisted by others in some of the research, but I am fully responsible for all of the content. I have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an M.S. in Industrial Engineering from New York University and a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering from The Ohio State University.

I was Project Administrator and Section Manager for 11 years at Hazeltine Electronics Division, Hazeltine Corporation, Little Neck, New York; Engineering Administrator for 3 years at AccuRay Corporation, Columbus, Ohio and Research Manager and Section Manager for 23 years at Battelle Memorial Institute, Columbus, Ohio. Battelle is the world’s largest independent research organization.

Since my academic years, I have maintained an interest in management, research and travel. In addition to trips to Paris and numerous cities in the United States, I have taken foreign vacation trips with my wife, averaging about two weeks each, to Ireland, England, Italy, and Bermuda. We have also taken two 10-day Mediterranean cruises. The last cruise was on the Queen Mary II in May 2005.
