Seine Boat Tours

Seine Boat Tours

You may want to consider a Seine boat tour if you have had some tiring days seeing the fantastic monuments, sites and museums of Paris. Seine boat tours will allow you to view the city from a different perspective. Though the Seine boat tours are the most famous, there are other Paris boats tours that cruise the waterways of St. Martin Canal and the Marne River.

Viator Seine Tours

For information on 15 Seine cruises offered by Viator, three of which are described briefly below, click on Viator and then click on "Cruises & Water Tours." You may then click on the particular Seine cruise that interests you to read details about it and to book it if you so choose.

  • Paris Vision Tour - City Tour and River Seine Cruise

This is a combination of the two-hour Paris Express City Tour by bus and a one-hour boat cruise on the Seine. The boat cruise with commentary offers the opportunity to see and learn the history of over 12 major Paris attractions.

  • Seine Cruise and Illuminations

This night tour consists of a one-hour cruise on the Seine followed by a bus tour of ten major Paris sights. The outstanding feature of this tour is the spectacular view of Paris attractions illuminated at night.

  • Cruise on the Canal Saint Martin and the Seine

This 2.5-hour cruise combines the grandeur of the Seine with the intimacy of canals revealing parts of Paris that tourists do not often see.

I did not list Seine tours that include dinner because they are rather pricey. You may thoroughly enjoy dinner on a Seine cruise and I do not want to discourage you if you want that experience. I just want you to be aware of the expense involved.

Batobus Seine Tour

The practical Batobus is like bus service on water. It allows passengers to get on and off as and when they desire at various predefined locations.

Seine boats offer specific fares for those who want to travel from one point to another. But the most economical and intelligent option is the daily ticket that costs €9 per day and €13.5 for two days. The charges are half for children below the age of 12. If you have a ‘Museums and Monuments’ ticket that offers limitless travel and entry to museums, make sure to take advantage of the discount that it allows on the Seine Batobus.

The service begins at 10:00 a.m. and lasts until 10:00 p.m. with a boat leaving every 25 minutes. This frequency is increased during the tourist season. The route that is followed by the Batobus includes (among others) stops at the following attractions:

  • Eiffel Tower
  • Musée d'Orsay
  • Saint-Germain-des-Pres
  • Nôtre-Dame
  • Jardin des Plantes
  • Hôtel de Ville
  • Louvre Museum
  • Champs-Elysées

Tickets for the Batobus can be bought at bus or Metro stations, the Batobus ticket vendors on the Seine, the RATP ticket booths, and at most of the hotels in the city.
